Pre-ECQ Timewalk: February 15, 2020 - Vagabonds

You know you have a bad case of wanting to eat out when you start scrolling you stock of food photos in your own phone and/or computer while wondering when you can actually do so again. While the current quarantine is proving to be a challenge to the plentiful extroverted individuals, I find it to be a near-zero stressor except with the occasional spikes of actually wanting to go out and tito my way to coffee (or tea) and whatever food I feel like eating at the time. But alas, it is not meant to be.

Before I ramble on what I want to eat or what not, I'll reminisce a bit on the time where I had a happier disposition in life and food was easier to get by. Prior to my short trip to Ling Nam, I took brunch at Vagabonds before going on with my day.

The Place:
1. Proximity: 4/5 - why this score? Because it was located in the Greenhills Shopping Center (GH) area and traffic (plus parking) drains your patience. Still close, still convenient and easy to get to if you ride through the many commuter options ploughing through Ortigas Avenue. If you're coming from Wilson Street, the free shuttle was an option but driving might get you there faster. It's roughly and hour's (slow) walk from my place (that's my healthy option).

2. Parking: 3/5 - GH has a lot of parking areas with at least 5 notable parking complexes. The closest to the O Square Building is their small parking area that tends to be really crowded really quickly. Your best bet is to park in the parking complex where Unimart is housed. You need to go up the ramp and hope to the gods of chaos that a slot or two is open near the entrance level or the 2nd floor. Park near the side facing O Square.

3. Interior: 4/5  - The restaurant has a big-ish feel to it which is conducive to slightly a group of people. Their open space and open-ish design made me feel that it is a cozy place to be in. During the afternoons though, expect the place to be warmer than usual especially if they don't turn up the aircon.

The Service:
1. Crew: 4/5 - I nicked a point here as crew was meeting right beside me. I usually don't mind it at all but ranting about shifts and bosses makes the taste of the food a little bit bitter. I feel for the crew though but there is a time and a place for everything.

2. The Service: 5/5 - Their quick service and generally warm reception is good enough for me.

The Food:
1. Selection: 5/5 - Their menu has a variety of their own take for a variety of western and asian dishes. While this is not unique to them, it will take a while for a person to actually run out of stuff to order from their menu before getting bored.

Since it was brunch and I wanted to feel a bit happier so I got Steak and Eggs (P600)

2. Taste: 5/5 - I was happy and surprised with the dish. The savory taste of steak, eggs and gravy with the kick by the chili is great for me.

3. Price: 2/5 - The price was a tad too hefty for me. I think the restaurant focuses on food to share so it might be a good thing. Vagabonds also accepts major credit cards.
